Leal supports many causes.  While we focus on women’s and children’s needs by donating merchandise, sponsoring fashion shows and presenting at fundraising events, Leal committed in 2010 to hosting “Runway to Awearness”, an annual fashion show fundraiser for Ovarian Cancer.  Connie’s dear friend, client and “cousin”, Pat DiNunzio was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2009.  Pat suffered for many months without a diagnosis.  After her diagnosis, Pat realized she wanted to help other women who would have to suffer this same fate.  She set up a 501c fund through the James Cancer Hospital at Ohio State University.  While the purpose of the fund was initially to help women recognize their symptoms and to provide “supplies” to help them navigate chemotherapy,  the fund has grown to offer scholarships for oncology nurses, sponsor a room at Kobacker House, donate a therapy dog…. And the list grows and grows.
